Our Story

We met in band at J. Frank Dobie High School in Houston, Texas in August 1970. Bobby married a classmate and Arra Leslie was born in May 1972. After Bobby's divorce, we ran into each other at Almeda Mall and immediately felt a bond. We started dating in June 1973 and were married on May 24, 1974.

We spent our early marriage in Houston and then moved to Alvin, right before our first son, Brent Lee, was born in May 1978. We lost our home in the flood caused by Tropical Storm Claudette. Soon afterwards, our son, Chad Darrin, was born in November 1979.

The 1980's recession was hard on a young couple with two small children living on only one salary, but we survived and became an even stronger family. We moved to Friendswood in 1982 and to Pearland in 1984. In 1988 Bobby took a job in upstate New York and we moved to Batavia. Now that was a culture shock for small-town Texans. We lived in Batavia for a year when he was promoted and we moved to West Mansfield, Massachusetts. A year later, when Bobby was offered a job in Texas, we gladly moved back home.

When we moved back to Texas, we chose to live in Burleson where my grandparent, Erna and Chester Rainbolt lived. We lived in Burleson for 15 years and the boys graduated from Burleson High School. We moved to our new home on Lake Granbury in November 2005 where we love to have big family gatherings.

Now all the children are grown. Arra lives with her husband, Daniel, and our two grandsons, Damon and Draven in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Brent lives nearby and is happily single, traveling the country selling computer systems and software for a local firm. Chad and his wife, Christi, and our two granddaughters, Kaylee Mae and Lainey Grace still live in Burleson where Christi teaches in the high school. So much has happened in our lives, but I treasure every memory.
